News 3.0
Hey people! I'm working hard on new update, so far ~30-40h this past week and half. I've been working on new kingdoms: (left pic)The Solitary Territories (Eshalhona Village is a elven village that is cut of from rest of elven kingdom) and Etrereburg City Kingdom (right pic(It's a city that got to remain independent after war with Ebrerin Empire after loosing all their territories).
Currently I'm working insides locations for both of them and then the hard part comes: Adding events, quests, people and changing old events, quests and npc conversation depending how you've played. It takes a lot of time to do that since I'm one person to rework all that. Also, I'm working on re-editing Highpoint to expand it to the west a bit so I can do some... work around it. This should come definitely in next update, unlike the two kingdoms which might or might not be in it too.
Now for the mechanics part:
In next update, if everything goes right, players will be able to go all 8 directions unlike the default and usual up-down-left-right. It will make the game look and feel more natural with people being able to walk wherever they want without taping three different buttons now you can just hold two and you go there.
Also, I'm working on adding shadows underneath people for more visual flavor. To be honest, I've never noticed that the characters and npc didn't have shadows underneath them till few days ago. If everything goes well both above mechanics will be in the update.
Gathering resources (extracting) will finally be finished in next update! Right now, only wood could be extracted and nothing else, it was LVL1 and you could do it forever to level up . Mining, harvesting and cutting where done by common conditional branch. Now, to give a feel of progression and realism (as much as possible), better quality mining and crystal nodes will require bigger extracting level. I'm not sure about the gathering of plants, probably will stay as it is, maybe adding few levels for herbs like from 1-3. Which will make a issue since I've set that you don't get extraction xp if level of node is 5 level below your level (example: plant is lvl 3 your extract is lvl11. you won't get xp). Will have to thinker a bit about that more. Maybe few rare herbs will be bigger levels.
I've added Encyclopedia in game. This book will give you information about items, weapons, skills, enemies and states that you've encountered. Don't know if I will put NPC's will think about it.
Few weapons and armors have been re-balanced both stats and costs.
